I was dropping a friend off at the airport. We decided to sit down and have a little something to eat. Since I had no breakfast I opted for the Irish Breakfast. For €8.95 I could chose 8 items/portions from Baked Beans, Large Sausages, Back Bacon, scrambled egg, white pudding, black pudding, fried mushrooms, small baked tomatoes and finally toast.

So you could opt to have 7 sausages + 1 rasher or 4 pieces of black pudding + 4 pieces of white pudding you get the idea. You mix and match to suit yourself.

There are also chips on display so I included those in my 8 choices but I was told "No". I asked "why not?", the girl said "I'm very sorry Sir but for the chips it's €1.50 extra". I said "It's like 1/2 a potato I'm asking for, why would that cost extra when compared to those big fat sausages?, I'll even give up 2 sausages for the chips" I offered but still the answer was "No, sorry, I can't do that Sir".

So can someone tell me what honor makes the few chips so special to warrant an extra €1.50?
